Now that we know how to greet someone in French;
Bonjour.
good morning, good afternoon, hello.

let's take a look at how to introduce yourself (tell your name) and how to ask others their names. To say what your name is, we use the verb s'appeler. Before we go to examples, let's see how to conjugate s'appeler in the present tense.
S'appeler (To be called, To call oneself)
Je m'appelle.
I am called, I call myself.
Tu t'appelles.
You are called, you call yourself.
Il s'appelle.
He is called, he calls himself.
Elle s'appelle.
She is called, she calls herself.
Nous nous appelons.
We are called, we call ourselves.
Vous vous appelez.
You are called, you call yourself.
Ils s'appellent.
They(Mas) are called, They call themselves.
Elles s'appellent.
They(Fem) are called, They call themselves.
Examples.
Je m'appelle (my name is)
To say what my name is, I will say
Je m'appelle Gare
My name is Gare.
Tu t'appelles comment ? (Singular, informal)
To ask someone their name in an informal situation, you will say:
Tu t'appelles comment ?
What is your name?
Vous vous appelez comment ? (singular, formal. Plural, formal/informal)
To ask someone or a group of people their name in a formal situation, use :
Vous vous appelez comment
What is your name?
What are you called?
Other examples
Il s'appelle John.
His name is John.
Ils s'appellent John et Peter.
Their names are John and Peter.
Note.
Tu
Tu means you( used when referring to one person whom you are familiar with. Family, friends, someone you are older than, peer group.)
Vous
Vous also mean you. ( in this case, it is used when referring to one person in a formal situation. It could be your boss, a stranger, an elderly person etc). Vous is also used to refer to a group of people either in the familiar or formal sense.
